Popped in for a pre drink before late lunch. Flabbergasted they added a charge for pulling a pint and a cocktail after waiting 15 min to be serviced . Wasn’t exactly busy on a Friday afternoon. Oh they don’t tell you either about the service charge. Staff could do with cracking a smile 😀 . Maybe give it a miss next time we are out 🤷♀️

Over sight seeing for a couple of days. Seen the hotel and thought it looked quirky and had a nice menu for lunch. Entered the hotel and was greeted by a member of staff that directed us to the bar restaurant. On entering the bar we noticed a sign stating ‘wait to be seated’. The barman told us to sit anywhere from behind the bar. We naturally went to a table that was set for service. He shouted from the bar not to sit there but anywhere else. He done this with a note of attitude on his face and voice. The bar only had two occupied tables at this time and was far from being busy. We sat for a considerable amount of time with different staff coming into the bar area. However none of them looked near us. After 10-15 minutes we got up and left. Very disappointed at the lack of customer service and poor attitude of staff, very unwelcoming.

My brother & his girlfriend attended here a week ago. I rang and requested to book them in for a three night stay, and they gave me a price: I paid over the phone, the guy David then only booked them in for two nights. Apparently the booking confirmation email generator was down at the time - how convenient. When my brother and his girlfriend returned to their room after being out, on day three, their room was wide open and my brothers card had been charged. Jordan, the guy on duty that night was very nice to my brother, and reassured him he would get the money refunded. We waited days for a ‘phone call’ we were promised, so I rang again. I was talking to David, who said he needed to speak to a manager and he would call me the next morning. Again, I had to call myself David refused to call me. When I spoke with a manager, she was so unhelpful and would not refund my brothers money. So not only was this horrific customer service, they charged us for 4 nights and my brother and his girlfriend only stayed 3. Would not recommend. Horrible staff, and unreasonable.

Wonderful for Private Events

Organised a private family birthday party at Angel's Share - it couldn't have gone more smoothly. The manager, Dori, was an absolute delight to deal with; all requests and queries were responded to promptly in an obliging, friendly manner. The venue itself is lovely; the Clubroom where we were situated was tucked out of the way of the main bar but still connected enough we didn't feel totally alone. All the staff were super friendly and helpful (especially Helena!), and throughout the night all the guests felt welcome and well-looked after. The food is of excellent quality as well. Would 100% recommend Angel's Share for private events!

The hotel is ideally placed to discover Edinburgh. The décor of the hotel, bar and rooms is really well done and to a high standard. We were in one of the executive rooms an it was really nice room. The bar and restaurant serves great drinks and has a good atmosphere during the day and the live music at night I enjoyed. Staff are attentive and friendly. The only thing I can say, which is not a criticism, is if you are looking for a modern hotel, this may be not the place to stay, but the style of the hotel matches the age of the building and the area it is in. Absolutely loved our stay.
